Getting started
with your new wig

Your new wig may feel a little unfamiliar at first. This guide takes you through the basics — from preparing your wig and putting it on, to getting the fit right and feeling comfortable wearing it.

Take your time. You don't need to get everything perfect on the first try — a little practice makes a big difference.

How to measure your head

Your head circumference is useful to know when choosing a wig, and we'll use it to help you find styles that should fit you comfortably.

Before you put it on

A new wig may look a little different straight out of the box. Give the fibres a gentle shake and use your fingers to loosen the style before you put it on.

Take a moment to check the inside of the cap and adjust the fastening straps if needed. The wig should feel secure without feeling tight — and don't worry about making it perfect straight away. You can make small adjustments once it's on.

UNDERSTANDING WIG CAPS

Understanding
wig caps

The cap is the foundation of your wig. Different cap constructions offer different levels of comfort, realism and versatility, so it can be helpful to understand what's inside your wig before you wear it.

This guide takes you through the main parts of a wig cap and what they mean for the way your wig feels and fits.
