GETTING THE FIT RIGHT
My wig feels too tight. What should I do?
A wig shouldn't feel painfully tight or give you a headache. Check the fastening straps inside the cap and loosen them if necessary. You can also experiment with the position of the wig — sometimes moving it slightly forwards or backwards makes a surprising difference.
My wig feels loose.
Check that the fastening straps are adjusted securely and that the wig is sitting in the right position. A wig grip can also provide extra security, particularly if you have little or no hair underneath.
KEEPING YOUR WIG IN PLACE
My wig keeps moving.
Start by checking the fit rather than immediately adding more products. Make sure the straps are adjusted and that the wig is sitting securely around your hairline. If you need extra hold, a wig grip or suitable wig spray can help.
Can I wear a wig outside in windy weather?
Yes! Your wig doesn't have to stay indoors on a still day. A secure fit and a little extra care around the front can help, but don't feel that you have to avoid normal life because you're wearing a wig.
MAKING YOUR WIG LOOK ITS BEST
My wig looks different from the picture.
That's completely normal. Wigs often need a little movement and finger styling after they've been packed and transported. Give the fibres a gentle shake and use your fingers to loosen and shape the style.
My wig looks too flat.
Try lifting the fibres gently with your fingers rather than brushing everything into place. You can also use the techniques in our Styling section to add volume.
The wig doesn't feel like me yet.
Give yourself time. Positioning the wig slightly differently, changing the parting or making a few small styling adjustments can make a huge difference. You don't have to wear it exactly as it arrives.
CARING FOR THE FIBRES
My wig is tangling.
Some tangling is normal, particularly around the nape of the neck where the fibres rub against clothing. Gently work through tangles from the ends upwards with a wide-tooth comb. Avoid pulling or brushing aggressively.
Can I use heat on my Roen wig?
Some Roen styles use Futura fibre and can be heat styled up to 160°C. Always check the fibre and styling guidance for your particular wig before applying heat.
Can I wash my wig?
Yes. An occasional wash can help keep your wig fresh. See our Washing your wig guide for the full process.
YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
How often should I wash my wig?
Your wig won't need washing after every wear. An occasional wash is usually enough, depending on how often you wear it and how it feels.
Can I sleep in my wig?
We recommend removing your wig before sleeping. This gives the fibres a chance to rest and helps reduce friction and tangling.
Can I swim in my wig?
We don't recommend swimming in your everyday wig. Chlorinated or salt water can affect synthetic fibres, and a wet wig can be difficult to manage and style afterwards.
How long will my wig last?
There's no single answer because it depends on how often you wear your wig, how you care for it and the style itself. With regular care and gentle handling, you can help your wig stay looking its best for longer.
Can I wear my wig every day?
Absolutely. Roen wigs are designed for real life, and there's no reason you can't wear your wig regularly. Just give it the care it needs and allow the fibres to rest between wears when you can.
How should I store my wig?
Make sure your wig is completely dry before storing it. Keep it somewhere clean and dry, away from direct heat and strong sunlight. Our Storage & Travel guide has more tips for keeping your wig in good shape between wears.
